Space Dog

In the 1950s & 60s, the Soviet space program began sending dogs into space as a precursor for human missions. Female stray dogs were the ones chosen to endure the harsh training before being launched into space. There were 71 launches into orbital and sub-orbital space with 17 deaths. This is for all those space dogs—the ones that made it back, along with the ones that never did.
